Jasmin Mann is a 21-year-old junior in the Corps of Cadets from Hampton, Virginia.
She is majoring in psychology and is pursuing minors in leadership studies, naval science, and criminology. When asked why she chose Norwich University, she said, “I wanted to leave my comfort zone, to attend college outside the area I grew up in and surround myself with like-minded individuals. I found Norwich while looking for Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) units, and I liked what all the school stood for and had to offer. ”
Mann shares her anticipation of post-graduation in commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, where she will attend the basic school (TBS) and hopefully be selected to become an intel officer.
Outside Norwich, Mann enjoys writing poetry and photography, being involved in anything outdoors, working out, and competitive shooting.
Her go-to life statement is, “If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.” I live by this because for people to grow, you must put yourself in a position to flourish. Getting out of your comfort zone is crucial for growth and development. By staying comfortable and never challenging yourself, you’re setting yourself up for failure.
