The Chameleon Literary Journal at Norwich University has unveiled the winners and finalists across its six prestigious prizes for the 2024 issue. The awards celebrate outstanding literary and artistic works submitted by students, spanning various genres and themes.
Among the notable winners are Surayah Pierce for the Allan Nason Prize for writing about war or the Corps of Cadets, Hailey Barnes for the Robert Halleck Prize for best poem, Andrii Shadrin for the Be You, Be True Prize for LGBTQIA+ writing, Tatum Laliberte for the Inclusive Prize, Rodion Pedyuk for the Diverse Worlds Prize, and Nicholle Davis for the Chameleon Prize for best prose or scriptwriting.
Associate professor of English and Chameleon advisor Sean Prentiss expressed excitement for the exceptional submissions received this year. “These are the written and visual voices of our students. They are beautiful and powerful,” said Prentiss, congratulating the winners and finalists.
The Chameleon Literary Journal, sponsored by various university offices and alumni, aims to promote diverse literary and artistic expressions. It encourages all Norwich students to submit their creative works and join the editorial team.
