Norwich University has announced the results of the recent student government elections. Javi Montanez has been elected Student Body President, receiving 178 votes. Hector Aponte was elected Vice President with 269 votes, defeating Leslie Malin. McKenzie Casey was elected Treasurer with 198 votes over Samriddhi Manandhar.
In addition to the executive roles, new student senators were elected for the rising senior, junior and sophomore classes. The rising senior senators are McKenzie Casey, Kailey Drake, Eyram N. Dzampah-Ametepee, Saira Khadka, Aadesh Ranabhat, Javi Montanez, and Rodion Pedyuk.
For the rising junior class, Hector Aponte, Keegan Butler, Brett Carlson, Jacob Kidwell, Matthew Ober, Spencer Rada, Robert Rosko, and Makayla Torrey were elected.
The rising sophomore senators are Jarek Kale Fryzlewicz, Gai Ayuil Gai, Samriddhi Manandhar, Kassandra Mancera Gonzalez, Kundan P. Kushwaha, Noah McCurdy, and Brianna Vital.
Montanez said, “Together, we can build a stronger Norwich – a place where every student thrives and feels empowered to reach their full potential.” A total of 384 students voted in the online elections organized by the Student Government Association.
