Lights, Camera, Murder!
This Friday, join the American Chemical Society in a Murder Mystery event to die for. This will be ACS’ third annual Murder Mystery and “involve[s] the Norwich student body in a fun and interactive event”, as stated by ACS President Quinn Bennett.
Quinn, a third-year student double majoring in Chemistry and Biology, was passionate in their advocacy for attendance at the event. “Every year it proves to be a great time” was their ecstatic selling point.
The event, entitled “Lethal Lasagna, allows attendees to test their crime-solving skills. Club Faculty Advisor Dr. Gallant spoke about the event being “an excellent way to get students of all majors interacting and working together. She also highlights the “opportunity to interact with… the Vermont State Police Crime Scene Search Team.”
The VSP Team will perform chemical tests and evidence photography according to Dr. Gallant. As stated by club Vice-President Thomas Salois, attendees will get to “see a professional demonstration by the Vermont State Crime Scene Investigation Unit.”
Thomas, a third-year student from Pawtucket (RI) majoring in Chemistry, also highlighted the “good food” at the event. Olive Garden will be catering the event, ensuring a high quality of killer food.
Attendees also can compete in a raffle for various prizes. There are two separate ways to attend: as a character and as a spectator.
Attending as a character will cost $20 and includes the catered dinner. This ticket must be purchased in advance through the Campus Activities Board (CAB) office. However, attendance as a spectator merely costs $5 and can be purchased either before or at the event.
The event is open to all, with Quinn explaining how ACS is, “bringing together people who like chemistry and sharing our passion for chemistry with others.”
Additional questions for the event can be addressed to ACS President Quinn Bennett [email protected]; club Vice-President Thomas Salois [email protected]; or club Faculty Advisor Dr. Sarah Gallant [email protected].
One last pun… if you attend, be sure to wear a killer outfit too!
