Drunk student assaults 2 officers with golf cart, officials report
An intoxicated student assaulted two officers with a stolen golf cart on campus late Friday night, according to campus officials.
The incident, which took place in the upper parade ground at 12:05 a.m. Saturday, was referred to the school’s Student Affairs department, according to Norwich University Department of Public Safety chief Larry Rooney.
Rooney declined to give additional details and referred all questions from The Guidon to the Student Affairs office.
The Guidon emailed Student Affairs Monday afternoon seeking updates, including the condition of the officers, how the golf cart was stolen, whether the office was investigating the case, what punishment the student might face if guilty, and whether the student was a cadet, civilian or commuter.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the Student Affairs office had not responded to The Guidon.
