Women’s Ice Hockey: Beal Named to Team Great Britain for World University Games
NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Last week coaching staffs for the World University Games released their rosters for men’s and women’s ice hockey. Included in the announcement was freshman blueliner Lucy Beal (Reading, Berkshire, U.K.) being named to Team Great Britain.
Beal is the lone representative of the Norwich University Women’s Ice Hockey team participating in the games. She has appeared in seven of the Cadets eleven games this season, has a +5 rating, and scored her first collegiate goal on Nov. 5 against UMass Boston.
Team Great Britain will begin their Round Robin play Jan. 11 against the Czech Republic with their games being played at SUNY Potsdam’s Maxcy Hall. Like the men’s tournament, the medal rounds will take place at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y. with medals being awarded on Jan. 21.
