CANTON, N.Y. – The Norwich University women’s cross country team wrapped up its 2022 season at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regionals at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Course at St. Lawrence University on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Kayley Jefferson (Medford, Mass.) led the effort of three participating Norwich racers, finishing in 115th with a 27:20.1 time.

Emmerson Leach (West Gardiner, Mass.) and Elena Vargas (Lakeville, Mass.) checked in back-to-back later on down the line, clocking in at 29:14.6 and 29:20.2 times to finish 136th and 137th.

Williams College claimed the top spot at Regionals, tallying 47 points.

The meet concludes Norwich’s 2022 season, which saw large strides for the women’s cross country program with a fourth-place finish at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships.  Jefferson ended her collegiate career after a strong showing for her senior campaign, which included a GNAC Runner of the Week honor during week six of the season.  Vargas, meanwhile, received a pair of Rookie of the Week nods throughout the year.
