MARSHFIELD, Mass. – The New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) announced its weekly award winners Monday afternoon. Among this week’s honorees is Norwich University Men’s Ice Hockey senior forward Philip Elgstam (Stockholm, Sweden) who was named Player of the Week.

Over the last four games Elgstam has been one of the most impactful Cadet forwards. He tallied two points during the FirstLight Shootout, then scored two goals and two assists in Norwich’s 5-1 victory over Southern Maine on Dec. 3. Currently, Elgstam is in a four-way tie for the team lead in points on the season with eight, despite only appearing in seven of the team’s ten games.

Elgstam and the eighth ranked Cadets will take on another top ranked team this week as they play host to Plattsburgh State Tuesday night Dec. 6 in a rematch of the FirstLight Shootout Championship.
