The John and Mary Frances Patton Peace & War Center invites the Norwich community to the 2024 Peace & War Summit on Monday, March 18, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM in Mack Hall Auditorium. Virtual streaming will also be available. This year’s theme is “War, Memory, and Reconciliation.”

The day-long event features a keynote address by William McCollough, VP of Student Affairs & 56th Commandant of Cadets, as well as panel discussions with faculty, student moderators, and presenters covering topics like colonial wars in New England, civil war criminal legacies, post-war peace festivals, spaces for reconciliation, emotional memories of war, and historical justice between nations.

A student panel at 3 PM will discuss the Russia-Ukraine war, the Donbas separatist movement, transnational repression by China and Russia, and shifting Confederate narratives after WWI.
