Mens Cross Country: Makin, Nash lead Norwich at Div. III Mideast Regionals

CANTON, N.Y. – The Norwich University men’s cross country team closed out a stellar 2022 campaign with a 19th-place finish at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Ronald C. Hoffman Cross Country Course hosted by St. Lawrence University.

Colby Makin (Westerly, R.I.) led the way, checking in at 102nd behind a 29:22.1 effort, while Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Year Judson Nash (Hampden, Me.) finished just a few places behind, putting together a 107th-place performance on a 29:40.1 time.

Matt Webster (Centreville, Md.) rounded out the Norwich runners placing within the top 125 with a 30:23.5 time to rank 123rd.

Norwich finished in 19th out of 23 teams with 587 points, four shy of tying New Paltz State.  The Cadets maintained a comfortable edge ahead of Western New England’s 618 points.

The meet concludes Norwich’s historical 2022 season, which included the program’s first GNAC Championship since 2017.  Nash concludes his rookie campaign having earned seven Rookie of the Week accolades over the year in addition to his Rookie of the Year recognition, while Makin brought in a GNAC Runner of the Week honor halfway through the year.
